Camp Director Camp

Last week, Camp Directors from all around the country gathered for the 2012 American Camp Association’s Residential Camp Conference.  Each year, Camp Directors tour a different set of camps with the mindset of learning new and innovative ideas that they could then implement at their own camp.  This year, Timber Lake Camp was honored to be featured as one of the camps visited during this conference.

While at Timber Lake, all attendees were split up into 4 groups for a walking tour of the grounds.  It was a fast-paced 2 hour Q & A session where Directors had the opportunity to learn about how things are done here at TLC, while touring our athletic, maintenance, adventure & living facilities.

After the tours ended, Jay and Mindy hosted a cocktail hour in their cabin, providing a great opportunity to catch up with friends new and old, which was then followed by dinner for everyone in the Dining Hall.  Overall, we couldn’t have been prouder to show our camp to the other Directors (We just wish the campers were there with us!)

Timber Lake looked as beautiful as ever with the leaves only starting to turn and if it were up to us, we would have opened up camp again last week for another 2 months!

We are already really looking forward to next summer!  Only 268 days until the summer of 2013!
